Example of Nadcap Zinc Phosphated Part

Zinc Phosphate (Nadcap accredited)

Zinc phosphate coatings typically serve as a base on steel for dry film lubricantsfluoroplymer coatings,  metal flake coatings, or lubricating oils. They may also be used for dry lubrication to improve break-in or reduce galling. Zinc phosphate coatings only  provide minimal corrosion protection without additional treatment. Their crystalline structure enables dry films and other coatings to mechanically bond to the steel, greatly enhancing adhesion. Zinc phosphate coatings are typically gray in color. For defense applications, this finish can reduce reflectivity of base materials.
